Managing a general ledger (tutorial)

New:  We have added a module to allow the export of expense transactions to any external general ledger program that allows such an import. For information on how to use the new interface click here

Stand alone use:

Fixed Assets is designed for stand-alone operation and so doesn't provide any accounting tools apart from asset management. However, a necessary task for asset management is posting depreciation to your general ledger program: these tutorial sections describe the depreciation total figures on the Calculate group depreciation window and show how to integrate them with an external general ledger program.

If you are using an outside accountant to prepare your accounts you can skip these sections. Simply provide the Tax schedule (group) and Accounting schedule (group) reports to your accountant.
